Biography

Maureen J. Smith joined Reisenfeld & Associates in September of 2008 and is responsible for managing a staff of 12. Maureen and her staff handle all matters related to billing clients for our fees and costs on each case.

Additionally, her department also handles the payables for case costs for literally hundreds of state, county and local government agencies, as well as vendors who provide services such as title agencies, publications and process servers. Maureen and her staff are also responsible for monitoring accounts receivable on a regular basis to make sure they are collected in a timely manner. Maureen also has the last look at each case before an audit is performed prior to closing after the legal work has been completed.

Prior to joining Reisenfeld & Associates, Maureen was Manager of the Accounting Adjustment Group at Western Souther Life Insurance. In this capacity, she was responsible for managing the operation of premium payment processing functions within the organization, including training ad development of 14 associates.

Maureen has supervised and managed accounting departments at several companies including Great American Insurance Group, LexisNexis and DataBase Technologies.

Personal

Maureen grew up in the Chicago area then moved to South Florida where she lived for 18 years. She has a son, Kevin, and two dogs, Abby and Samantha. Maureen loves football season and is a die-hard Chicago Bears fan.
